What you did there and installed is actually very dangerous and a code violation for a number of reasons. You cannot have receptacles facing straight up, should you spill something into them, crumbs and liquid. It looks like they are not the tamper resistant type, posing a shock hazard. It may or may not be GFCI-protected, posing a shock hazard. Also it may or may not be sized as a 20-ampere cord assembly, posing a fire hazard and a general nuisance. In such a litigious country, I hope you have a good E + O policy , lest your column here falls into the wrong dum-dum’s hands and they hurt themselves!
